â€Å"We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow†. These chilling words come from the mouth of one of the world’s most notorious serial killers, Theodore Bundy. So many people have stated the evilness that lives within this man, and rightly so, as he was a kidnapper, rapist, and necrophile who assaulted and murdered numerous women. However, I have been intrigued by these murders, or more so the murderers themselves. The murderers being serial killers who by definition are people who murder three or more persons in at least three separate events with a â€Å"cooling off† period between kills. Many crimes committed are due to impulse and ulterior motives, and because of this, most murderers have connections to their victims; serial killers however do not follow this trend. Various assumptions have been made into why serial killers may be the way they are. Some have said stated that the biological make up of serial killers are the cause, others say environment such as abuse and family are to blame. Are serial killers biologically programmed to murder or are they a product of their environment? I intend to explore both sides of this argument in hopes of coming to a conclusion on the old age question, is it nature or nurture? The Morality Play Is it possible that people are bad from birth?
